User Generated Content
So, you have been there and done it yourself, that is, you are here now and you have added content in one form or another to various WEB 2.0 sites. You have added content..... User Generated Content sites, Web 2.0 as they are called, must be laughing all the way to the bank. Sitting there watching their site grow as we add content. They provide the platform, we provide the valuable content. The platform on it's own is nothing. We are what is valuable. So have you considered doing this with your own site? Everyone says content is king and that is so very true, in reality though, not everyone can be bothered or has the skills to write several articles per day for their site. Simple solution: Provide a means for your users to add content. This will not work on everyones site but it will for some. If you are a website owner then take a look at your website. Ask yourself a few questions. Do I generate enough traffic to make this worthwhile? Do I have a subscription based website? (quids in if you do!) Do I have a client based website?
If any of these questions are yes then you can do it. A blog, a question and answer base, a knowledge centre. Have a think about what may fit in with what you do and remember, be dynamic and innovative. Get your clients, subscribers and website visitors to supply some content and you could be looking at having several hundred article writers at your disposal for free, in fact, you may even charge them for writing for you. Pretty neat huh? |
