Pick over your lentils
Lentils go through several processes to remove stones and twigs and other things non-lentil before they arrive in the shops in their shiny bags. However, these processes never ever remove all unwanted debris. It is always best to pick over your lentils first, if you do it carefully you will be very surprised at just how many little stones you find in there as well as other little items. There is nothing worse than having a nice bowl of lentil soup, only to crunch on small stone and chip your teeth. |
