Mono Sodium Glutamate Myth
The myth that Chinese food gives you nightmares is just that, an old wives tale. This story has been circulating for years and has no factual basis whatsoever. Supposedly it is the Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) in Chinese food that is responsible but this rumour has no factual basis whatsoever. The myth goes that if you eat Chinese food shortly before bed you are more likely to have bad dreams. The British Food Council ran several tests on this theory and none came up positive. So, next time someone tells you this silly rumour, tell them not to be so silly! |
