I Watch Porn...
.......becoming more prevalent in my inbox and featuring in the top 3 most listed search terms on the Internet. Basically the Internet is full of it and no longer is a dirty mag the media of choice. There was some debate a while back about having the top level domain XXX being allocated for porn sites. i.e. http://www.iluvporn.xxx but this was rejected by ICANN, the ruling body over such things. However, it is very likely to come up again some time. Now - the primary reason for rejection was that ICANN would then be putting itself into the content regulation business as opposed to being in charge of domain names and numbers (Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers) however, has it not already done this by allocating other industries their own TLD's such as .tv and .biz? For me, as a father, it would be a good move; especially if we could ensure that all porn related media is put directly onto the xxx TLD. It would be difficult to regulate but it could be that if a company was to be found hosting porn on a domain other than .xxx a complaint could be made and the domain names DNS nulled. This way only the most underground of porn sites would bother trying to avoid going xxx and these places are not usually found with ease, i.e. have any search engine presence. If this was to happen it would be a lot easier to filter what my kids can accidentally watch/view on the internet and make me that little happier about leaving them alone with the PC and Internet connection. Not only that, dare I say it, but one of them will be a teenager soon and I do not want him growing up and having his first experiences thinking that donkey sex and gangbangs are the norm! Sex mags are allocated the top shelf and in my opinion it should be the same for the Internet.
