How to stop Windows Vista automatic updates rebooting your computer
I have a nice new copy of Windows Vista on my laptop and left to go cook some food for a few minutes, only to come back and find it had rebooted due to Windows Vista automatic updates which then reboots on install.. Bloody annoying ey? Especially as I had several pieces of work unsaved. Well, my own fault really... It's usually the first thing I turn off and heres how. There are two ways, I'm going to list the simple way first and direct you to a link for the second way; 1. Go to start - control panel - security center. Click on windows update in the top left and turn the b**tard off.. This is not recommended (by windows) however you can choose to update whenever you like, as long as you remember to do it once a week you should be k. (anything bad happens within that week I hold NO responsibility!) |
